As part of our new journal series, A Shared Sanctuary, we caught up with our customer and Koozi community member, Hannah, a dog mum to three gorgeous dachshunds. She shares what being a dog mum means to her and how she has created a home sanctuary that reflects style and comfort for her, her husband - and their dogs.

"Being a dog mum of three mini sausages, we have found that we want our home to be a safe space for the boys to thrive and live their best lives," Hannah says.

They spent time carefully building and renovating their forever family home, choosing colours, materials, and furniture that reflect their style. 

Naturally, they wanted their dogs' crate—their sleep den—to blend seamlessly into their space rather than stick out like an eyesore. Particularly that they had three of them.

When sharing our cherished spaces with our dogs, it only makes sense to create a home that caters to both style and function. And that's exactly what Hannah did. 

"We were going for a tranquil retreat oasis feel when designing our home, and the boys were always in mind throughout the design and build process. It’s not just a home for us but also for them. A place to relax, unwind, and feel at peace."

The colour scheme throughout the home is woven together through a palette of calming green and natural earthy tones. The space evokes a sense of nature, freshness, and inviting warmth, with warm tones dotted throughout.

For Hannah, who's three boys love curling up in their own sleepy dens each night, choosing the right dog crate was essential. She wanted something that seamlessly blended into her home rather than standing out as an eyesore.
